Gameloft, a leading developerand publisher of video games for mobile phones, today announced it hassigned an exclusive agreement with Viacom Consumer Products, Inc. todevelop,
publish and distribute the wireless game version of the biggestmovie event of the year, Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds starringinternational superstar Tom Cruise.
With exclusive gaming rights for the movie, Gameloft will develop theWar of the Worlds storyline into a mobile game and distribute it throughGameloft's wide network of carriers, partners and its online store. Theagreement reinforces Gameloft's strong position in mobile gaming andadds to the company's growing list of licenses with strong internationalbrands.
"War of the Worlds is a classic, both in novel and film form, andGameloft is very excited to add the mobile version to the list ofacclaimed adaptations," said Karine Kaiser, Gameloft's Marketing DeputyDirector.
